“True healing is cultivated through curiosity, connection, and care that honors the whole person.”

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner • Integrative Mental Health Guide • Lifelong Explorer

Welcome and thank you for visiting my website. I would like to take a few moments of your time and  introduce myself….

I am Katie Dowdy—an integrative psychiatric nurse practitioner, grounded in compassion, rooted in curiosity, and always ready to meet you exactly where you are.

I believe that mental health care should be collaborative, respectful, and as unique as the individual it’s designed to support. My practice combines traditional psychiatric care with a functional and nutritional lens—exploring root causes, balancing hormones, improving gut-brain health, and using lifestyle strategies to empower healing from the inside out. Whether we’re reviewing labs, fine-tuning medication, exploring supplements, or talking about real-life challenges, I am dedicated to help you become the healthiest version of you possible.

I enjoy working with people who are ready to take the reins of their healing journey. My approach is warm, humorous, nonjudgmental, and collaborative. I’m a firm believer that laughter is medicine, nature is therapy, and our personal stories—no matter how winding—can be rewritten with intention and support to create your best story and legacy…

I specialize in working with adolescents (16 & up), young adults, and adults—whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, hormone-shifts, ADHD, or are simply looking for more integrative ways to care for your overall health and mental well-being. I am here to assist and guide you on this path to your most authentic self.

My path to being a psychiatric nurse practitioner has been like a long and steady hike. I have been a hairdresser, a salon owner, a stay-at-home mom, a nurse, a gardener, an educator, an avid tennis player (who is now learning Pickleball!), a women’s ministry leader, youth group leader, and I have navigated this life as an adoptee. All of my journeys have taught me something about human connection, resilience, and what it means to truly care for others.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me hiking, exploring, digging in the dirt, playing on a court, cherishing moments with my family, or marveling at a sunrise. Nature and exercise have long been my own antidepressants—and I bring that same reverence into my clinical work. Some hikes are easy. Some are steep. But no matter where you’re starting, you don’t have to walk alone.
